Shipping, Returns & Warranty

Plain-language policies for buying an outboard motor from Apex Marine Outboard Motors.

Shipping & Delivery

Engines ship crated and fully insured via established LTL freight carriers. Depending on your location, delivery is available to a local freight terminal, a commercial dock, or a residence with liftgate service.

  • Mainland United States: 3–5 business days transit. Flat-rate freight from $150–$450 depending on engine size and weight, shown before checkout.
  • International: 7–14 business days transit. Freight requires an individual quote — contact us with your destination and we will price it.
  • Transit estimates exclude order processing, customs clearance, and carrier delays.

Every shipment is insured for its full value. If an engine arrives damaged, document the damage before signing where possible and contact us immediately — damaged arrivals are handled at our cost, including return freight.

Returns

  • Unused, unmounted engines in their original factory crating can be returned within 30 days of delivery.
  • Returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee.
  • The buyer covers return freight, unless the engine arrived damaged or defective — in those cases we cover it.
  • Mounted or used engines do not qualify for return.

If you are unsure whether an engine fits your boat, talk to us before ordering. A compatibility check up front is always cheaper than a return.

Warranty

New engines carry the manufacturer's limited factory warranty — typically 3 to 5 years depending on the brand. Factory warranty coverage can depend on the engine's origin, registration, and destination country, so we confirm warranty eligibility by model before you purchase. We will tell you plainly what is covered before you commit.

Pre-owned engines include a 90-day mechanical and compression warranty from Apex Marine Outboard Motors. Every pre-owned unit ships with a technician compression certificate and a multi-point inspection checklist documenting its condition at the time of sale.

Rigging, Controls & Propellers

Unless a listing specifically states otherwise, prices cover the outboard motor only. Controls, cables, gauges, steering components, and propellers are not included. Compatibility between your existing rigging and a new engine must be confirmed by a specialist — contact us with your boat model and current setup and we will verify it before you buy.
